Double wow & I need those shoes...

I'm loving the contrast in style here from Harper's Bazaar fashion editor, Christine Centenera. I love that she's mixed up her usual hard edged rock chic style and softened it with the boyish androgyny of the bassike boyfriend jean. I've also been contemplating a patent black stiletto and miss Centenera has helped solve that dilemma.  x

Kate & CK - beyond

This woman can do no wrong. Her style is clean and uncontrived and she is the perfect muse for Calvin Klein. I am stalking for that red CK dress in between typing this post. How ridic is miss Bosworth! X

An undeniably fabulous collection - AW11 SCANLAN AND THEODORE

The new Scanlan and Theodore AW11 collection is now available in store and I think it is the strongest collection to date. Luxurious leather shearling jackets, sheer pleated maxi's, supple leather leggings, fabulous fur jackets and thats just the first drop! With fans like Erin Wasson and Emma Lunn Scanlan and Theodore proves time and time again why it has such a large following and this collection is no different. Check it out at 122 Oxford St Paddington.

Behind the infamous label we have Gary Theodore who shares his thoughts with Genevra Leek from Vogue Australia on the direction of Scanlan and Theodore.

What is the general mood for the new Scanlan & Theodore’s winter collection?

“Understated modern luxury; sophisticated longer silhouettes, rich fabrics, contrasting textures, a strong colour palette, luxurious detailing like leather cuffs, fur and knife pleating, and reworked classics like the button-up draped trench, which is my personal favourite.”

You have introduced some great new accessory labels to the mix, including Lucy Hutchings, Eddie Borgo, Scott Wilson, Tila March, Fenton, Dominic Jones and Mysuelly. How do they work in with the Scanlan & Theodore aesthetic?

“Our customer is progressive and appreciates quality, attention to detail and, most importantly, beautiful design: that’s why they come to us. These labels are the very best of the best from across the globe, from up-and-coming new designers through to established designer brands … each label offers something different while complementing the Scanlan & Theodore design aesthetic.”

You enlisted buyer and fashion consultant Yasmin Sewell to source the international accessory brands. What was her brief?

“We trust Yasmin; she has grown up with Scanlan & Theodore. She has worn the label for years and knows the customer, the label and us very well. She has an incredible eye and is always the first to discover new talent. The editing process is collaborative; Yasmin brings a multitude of options and we work together on the perfect mix for Scanlan & Theodore.”

Do you have any favourites among the new arrivals?

“Dominic Jones has an incredible talent and imagination; it’s a bit hard-edged. And we continue to be excited about our offering of Givenchy shoes and bags.”

How integral are accessories to the wider Scanlan & Theodore philosophy?

“The focus recently has been on perfecting retail and the ready-to-wear collections to which our imports have been the perfect partners. We have always wanted to focus on accessories but, given time constraints and resources, achieving the desired outcomes would prove difficult, and as a result we would never compromise our standards.”

But there is currently a new range of leather goods in the works …

“Due to the recent success and growth of our company, we now have the resources in house to develop and grow not only the imported brands but also our own-brand shoe and leather goods collections."

With love from Bali

So I have just returned from my ten day holiday in Bali and boy is it hard to be back...
Above are a few snaps of me and my beautiful friend Sophie holidaying it up. Ps. she's going to hate me for putting these up, but these babies are too good not to share.

Just a POP! of colour

Fashion Week has bought fabulously clad editors and photographers from all over the world. What excites me most is the plethora of creativity that we see walking down those cold wintery paths. I don't know about you but sometimes I am more inspired but street style snaps then I am from editorial pages, I think it has to do with the fact that I like to see how others translate high fashion pieces into wearable looks. One definite trend I have noticed is 'pops of colour' in winter dressing. What a change from winters favourite colour; black. It is somewhat refreshing to know some of my coloured pieces from summer can be translated into winter styling.
